Corporate Social Responsibility Is Not Just About Charity

When people mention corporate social responsibility, many first think of charity, donating money, and organizing charitable activities. Indeed, charity is part of corporate social responsibility, but it is by no means the whole story. True corporate social responsibility runs through every aspect of business operations—being responsible to users, employees, partners, the industry, and society. These are all expressions of social responsibility. The practice of corporate social responsibility at Beifang Dalu is comprehensive in this way; it is not just about doing a few charitable activities and calling it done.

Being responsible to users is the most basic social responsibility of a company. When users spend money on your products and services, you must provide something worth the value, without deception, exaggeration, or passing off inferior goods as superior. Beifang Dalu's strict requirements on product quality, cautious attitude toward compliance, and continuous investment in service are essentially about being responsible to users. Health products affect users' physical health, and exam-preparation products affect children's academic futures; neither allows for the slightest carelessness. Making good products, delivering solid service, not exaggerating in promotion, and not misleading consumers—this is the greatest responsibility to users and the most basic social responsibility.

Being responsible to partners is also an important aspect of corporate social responsibility. Many companies make grandiose promises when recruiting partners, but once partners pay money and join, they are left alone to fend for themselves. In the short term, this may make money, but in the long term it overdrafts brand credibility and is also irresponsible to partners. Through the full-chain empowerment of the Dataiyi system, Beifang Dalu provides partners with comprehensive support from training to operations to back-end services, enabling partners to truly build their businesses and make money. That is being responsible to partners. Not drawing empty promises, not promising what cannot be delivered, providing practical support, and helping partners grow—this matters more than anything else.

Being responsible to employees is also part of corporate social responsibility. Employees are a company's most valuable asset, and a company's development depends on their contributions. Being responsible to employees is not only about paying a salary, but also about providing a good working environment, room for growth, and reasonable compensation and benefits, so that employees can grow and develop within the company. Through the training systems of Huangpu College and the Business School, Beifang Dalu and the Dataiyi system provide employees and partners with opportunities for continuous learning and growth. This reflects responsibility to employees. Enabling employees not only to earn money but also to learn, improve their abilities, and realize personal value—that is true people-oriented management.

Being responsible to the industry is a higher level of social responsibility. A company's development cannot be built on disrupting industry order and harming the overall interests of the industry. Compliant operations, healthy competition, and promoting industry progress are all expressions of responsibility to the industry. Beifang Dalu's compliant operations in the health and exam-preparation tracks, avoiding exaggerated promotion and vicious competition, and winning the market by improving product and service quality—this is promoting the healthy development of the industry. If every company can operate compliantly and compete healthily, the entire industry will get better and better, and ultimately all practitioners and consumers will benefit.

Being responsible to society is the highest level of corporate social responsibility. A company is part of society, and its development depends on society's support, so it should also give back to society. Charity is one way to give back, but not the only way. Providing employment opportunities, promoting industrial development, creating social value, and spreading positive energy—these are all ways of being responsible to society. Beifang Dalu creates employment opportunities through industrial layout, serves people's livelihood needs through health and exam-preparation products, and helps more people realize entrepreneurial dreams through its partner system. These all create social value and contribute to society.

In the final analysis, corporate social responsibility is not a slogan, nor a task that can be completed by doing a few charitable activities. It is a business philosophy that runs through a company's daily operations. Being responsible to users, partners, employees, the industry, and society—if all these are done well, the company will naturally gain social recognition and be able to go further. Beifang Dalu's practice of social responsibility involves no earth-shattering events; it is simply doing these most basic things one by one and steadily fulfilling the responsibilities a company should fulfill.
